Moving Can Be a Headache

When preparing to move to a new home there can be a lot on your mind. But don't stress because I have a few tips to make that move go a little smoother
Tip #1) Throw out the trash! We all have things stored away that we haven't seen in years! Things we thought we may "need" someday. If you don't know for a fact that you need it, then you probably don't. It's like they say "when in doubt, throw it out!"
Tip#2) Wrap it up! Get duct tape, bubble wrap, and newspaper. From the dishes in your cabinets to your dining room chairs; they all need to be wrapped tightly and securely. This will help your personal belongings have much less of a chance of becoming broken during the move and will help to prevent your chairs and tables from becoming scratched during the move.
Tip#3) Clear everything out! Be sure to take all the photo albums out of the entertainment center and all the books off the book shelves. This will make the process for the movers much faster. If your large items are cleared of your personal belongings they can pick them up and pack them in the truck without having to wait.
Tip #4) Box it up! Don't feel like you need to go out and buy tons of boxes; some grocery stores will give you their boxes instead of throwing them out ! Start with the things you know you won't need to use tomorrow and then box away until your heart is content!

Tip#5) Don't forget the keys! Grab all the keys to your old home and put them in one envelope to give to your Realtor, if you have a garage door opener be sure to put it in the envelope as well.
Tip#6) Make that last cup! Make that last cup of coffee in your old home because you're going to need it, for all the unpacking you're about to do at your new home!

I hope these tips help make moving smoother and less of a headache! Please feel free to leave your comments below; I would love to hear from you!
